The most energy efficient laundry in the UK has been created by the White Knight Laundry Group and the installation was completed by R Brown Specialist Laundry Engineering in Reading, Berkshire. The project, overseen by Andy Marsh, Divisional Director of White Knight Laundry Services has brought together innovative technology, expert skills and the largest steam free continuous batch washing machinery in the world.
The system combines a 20 stage Lavatec CBW system, it is connected with bespoke stainless steel pipework throughout.
Richard Brown, owner of R Brown Specialist Laundry Engineering says “I was confident that my team would improve on the existing structure at White Knight. I wanted to design and install a unique creation, whilst ensuring we controlled costs, pricing our work accurately from the outset and ultimately producing a system never before created to this standard. I think the results speak for itself”
Andy Marsh of White Knight, which holds a Royal Warrant to Her Majesty The Queen as launderers and dry cleaners is delighted with the finished product. “We now have the ability to offer our clients an improved service and unrivalled quality at no additional cost; we’re already saving at least 50% on our gas bill alone. In addition, we are absolutely dedicated to limiting the impact of our business on the environment. Richard’s system has enhanced this commitment by providing us with the most efficient process in the industry, making significant savings on both energy and water usage.
“I chose Richard based on his industry specific knowledge. He’s one of a handful of laundry engineers in the UK who can work on any piece of machinery, whether it’s brand new or 40 years old. One of my main priorities was to see continual progress and avoid ineffective periods of time. I’ve been impressed throughout.”
Julian Woolcock, Finance Director at White Knight added “I trust Richard’s judgment and I genuinely believe he fully understands every element of the process. We undertook a significant amount of research when selecting the most appropriate contractor. Richard was the obvious solution due to the impressive recommendations we received, one from Julian Carr of Sunlight and also the detailed and specific proposal he produced.”
The official grand opening of the new laundry system at White Knight will take place later in the year.
